Tengku Zafrul Aziz is Malaysia’s Minister of Investment, Trade & Industry, responsible for growing the country’s manufacturing industry and trade, as well as attracting investments into the country. He spearheaded the formulation of Malaysia’s New Industrial Master Plan 2030, the Chemical Industry Roadmap 2030 and the National Industry ESG Framework, set to transform Malaysia’s industrial landscape and elevate Malaysia’s industries in the global value chain.
Tengku Zafrul was previously Malaysia’s Minister of Finance, where he drove the curation and implementation of eight stimulus and aid packages and formerly was the Group CEO and Executive Director of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad.
Tengku Zafrul will highlight Malaysia's economic policies under NIMP 2030, focusing on how they are shaping a sustainable, digitally-driven economy. He will discuss how young professionals can leverage MITI's Industry 4.0 initiatives, particularly in the green economy and digital transformation, to access new opportunities in high-value sectors like renewable energy and AI. Tengku Zafrul will also emphasise the role of political stability in attracting investments and retaining local talent to reduce brain drain.
